OFITECO will be part of the team that will study the current state of the dams and the revision of their safety documents.
The technical regulations on dam safety have evolved over the years with the aim of adapting to existing needs and to the catastrophic events associated with dam breaches. The review of the essential safety conditions of dams and reservoirs and their proper enforcement are essential to maintain appropriate control procedures and to protect people, the environment and property.
It is essential that this work is carried out by experts in the field, which is why the CHD has once again relied on OFITECO, recognising its work in this field and consolidating its position as a leader in the sector. The works will have a completion period of 30 months (with the possibility of being extended by mutual agreement for a further 30 months), and will involve the collection of general information, the visual inspection "in-situ", the proposal of safety improvement actions, as well as the review of the safety documents of the dams covered by the contract.
