The award of this contract reaffirms the trust placed by the Directorate General for Water and the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation in OFITECO for its experience in the field of Dam Safety.
The dimension of the risks associated with a dam break justifies the need to establish control over these infrastructures. In this respect, over the years, specific regulations have been defined and approved to define the necessary actions to ensure the integrity of dams.
For this reason, and given OFITECO's high degree of specialisation in the field, as well as the full dedication guaranteed by its team, the Directorate General for Water and the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation have once again relied on its services in this contract.
This work - the execution period of which will be 30 months, with the possibility of being extended by mutual agreement for a further 30 months - will involve the study of the current state of the concessionary dams and the review of their safety documents. For this, the general information on the dams and their technical files will be compiled and reviewed, a visual inspection will be carried out to check their condition, and technical review reports will be drawn up on the Operating Regulations and Emergency Plans, among others.
This contract corroborates OFITECO's experience in the field of safety, inspection and auscultation of dams and adds to the experience acquired with the rest of the Confederations at national level (Duero, Tagus, Guadiana, etc.), as well as with various private companies both nationally and internationally.
